I’ve found it!
The Elixir of Life exists, and the best news is, it’s easy to get.
OK, Elixir CBD produced by Quebec-based licensed producer Hydropothecary isn’t actually the Elixir of Life, but it’s pretty close.
Elixir CBD is a sublingual MCT oil mist with a touch of peppermint oil to give it a fresh flavour. Being sublingual, meaning it is administered under the tongue, the Elixir begins to work in about 30 minutes, which is significantly less time than a swallowed oil or edible would take to start working.
Weighing in at 55 mg of CBD per ml, it’s the highest concentration of CBD available in Canada. There’s a hint of THC in there as well, just enough to aid in the entourage effect (the idea that you need all parts of the cannabis plant for the maximum therapeutic impact) and not enough to create psychoactive effects.
As a bonus, each time you spray, your mouth gets a wakeup of mint, and how can that ever be a bad thing?
The spray bottle itself is super easy to use and delivers about 6 mg of CBD per mist, and there are about 150 mists in each bottle. That brings the total amount of CBD in each bottle to a whopping 900 mg.
Here’s the best part, because its primary cannabinoid is CBD, it’s non-psychoactive, which means you can keep the convenient little spray applicator in your pocket all day and use it as often as you like without fear of intoxication.
I took four sprays on my first encounter, which may have been too much (don’t worry, nothing happened, it’s non-psychoactive) but it’s tough to limit as it truly is refreshing.
I let the oil sit under my tongue until I could feel it disappear.
Now, it’s no Binaca, but I wouldn’t hesitate to pop a couple of sprays after a Ceasar Salad or anything with onions.
About 35 minutes later, I noticed my buggy shoulder not being so buggy anymore and just a general sense of well being.
Hydropothecary has done it again with another tremendous innovative product.
